Bone Grafting

Bone grafting is a surgical procedure that replaces missing bone with a material called a bone graft, which can be taken from the patient's own body, a donor, or a synthetic source. It's used to repair and rebuild diseased bones, address bone loss from fractures or cancers, and create a stable foundation for dental implants.

Apicoectomy

An apicoectomy is a minor surgical procedure performed by an endodontist (a root canal specialist) to treat infection at the tip of a tooth's root. It's essentially a root canal retreatment, but instead of addressing issues in the main root canal, it focuses on the apex (tip) of the root and the surrounding tissue. The procedure involves removing the infected tissue and a small portion of the root tip, followed by sealing the root end to prevent further infection.

Wisdom Extraction

Wisdom tooth extraction is a surgical procedure to remove one or more of the four wisdom teeth, which are the last molars in the back of the mouth. These teeth can cause problems when they don't have enough space to erupt properly, potentially leading to pain, infection, or damage to other teeth. Extraction may be recommended by a dentist or oral surgeon, even if the teeth aren't currently causing issues, to prevent future complications.

Surgical Guide

A surgical guide, also known as a surgical template or guided implant placement system, is a device used in dental implant procedures to ensure precise implant placement according to a pre-planned treatment plan. It acts as a roadmap during surgery, guiding the drill and implant to the desired location and angulation, thus minimizing errors and maximizing the chances of successful restoration.

Sinus Augmentation

Sinus augmentation, also known as a sinus lift, is a surgical procedure to increase the bone height in the upper jaw, specifically in the area of the molars and premolars, to prepare for dental implant placement. This is often necessary because the maxillary sinuses, located behind the cheeks and above the upper teeth, can be close to the jawbone, and bone loss can occur after tooth extraction, making it difficult to place implants.

Deep Sedation

Deep sedation is a state of drug-induced unconsciousness where patients can be aroused only by painful stimulation and may have impaired ability to independently maintain breathing. It is used to manage anxiety and pain during medical or surgical procedures, and patients often have little to no memory of the event. While it offers advantages like pain relief and reduced anxiety, deep sedation also carries risks like airway compromise and the need for close monitoring.

Periodontics

Periodontics is the dental specialty focused on the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of diseases affecting the gums and supporting structures of the teeth, as well as the placement and maintenance of dental implants. Periodontists are dental specialists who receive extensive additional training in these areas.

Soft Tissue Grafting

Soft tissue grafting is a dental procedure that involves transplanting gum tissue, typically from the palate (roof of the mouth), to cover exposed tooth roots or augment thin gum tissue. This can be done for both functional and cosmetic reasons, such as reducing sensitivity, preventing further gum recession, and improving the appearance of a smile.

Crown Lengthening

Crown lengthening is a surgical procedure that reshapes the gum line and/or bone around a tooth to expose more of the tooth structure. It's done for both functional and cosmetic reasons, such as to allow for proper restoration of a damaged tooth or to correct a "gummy smile".

Root Canals

A root canal is a dental procedure used to treat an infected or damaged tooth by removing the infected or damaged pulp (the soft tissue inside the tooth) and cleaning, filling, and sealing the tooth's root canals. This procedure aims to save the natural tooth and prevent the need for extraction.

All-on-4 is a dental implant technique that allows for an entire arch of teeth to be supported by only four implants. These implants are strategically placed, with the back implants angled to compensate for bone loss, making it a viable option for individuals with limited jawbone density. The procedure enables patients to receive a full set of fixed teeth on the same day as the implant placement.

All on 4s

Dental implants are a popular and effective solution for replacing missing teeth, designed to look, feel, and function like natural teeth. They consist of a titanium post surgically placed into the jawbone, an abutment that connects the post to a restoration, and a crown or denture that replaces the visible tooth or teeth.
